After working to make pieces larger and larger to see if I could grab the viewers entire attention, at the artist residency at
Yaddo I installed the whole studio with bits of white and brown cut cardboard from the kitchen recycling. With no car, no power tools and nothing but an exacto knife I set to work. This was an attempt at pure brain manipulation, to see if I could make an interior space feel calm and familiar. In April 2011 I significantly expanded and installed this piece at
Box 13 Artspace in Houston for the Texas Biennial 2011.
