Turns out the modern equivalent for hunting and gathering nuts, berries and firewood have morphed into finding a sandwich, a cup of coffee and a tank of gasoline. Now digitally documented from credit card transactions - just as interesting and insightful to understanding human behavior and patterns.
Most purchases are within 10 miles of home, those further away become smaller squares, transactions cluster by time of day and every type -- fast food, groceries a restaurant bill are all color coded by category. Each vertical column is an individual cardholder, and you can imagine the horizontal axis could go for miles.
