I made a video of how I cut, dye and glue the wool
/I’ve made and edited videos before — and even when you think it’s going to be easy, it sucks up hours and hours of time to pull video clips into Premier Pro and fuss with clipping and making the transitions look clean. After a gallerist in Paris asked me for a short video she could use for submission to an art fair next year, I said the only rational response. Sure!
Surely there must be new AI tools that can help. Quickly I found CapCut and did the whole thing on my phone. Shot a bunch of 5-10 second clips of the process, begged my husband Mark to shoot a couple of me, so there would be a human in the video. Opened the app, grabbed a dozen short clips to include and hit the ‘auto’ button. Voila!
OK, it’s not super polished. But it’s a VIDEO, with edits. And I can do it again. Meanwhile, 30 sec to see how those little slivers of wool get made.
