We're halfway thru the decade when humans shift from mysterious beings - to big data algorithms, where everything about us will be known. Creepy? Do you toss this on the pile of horrible future problems or is there an entirely different story for how our personal data comes back to us as immune boosting wall texture?
The College of Engineering integrated an art program within the Zachry Engineering Education Complex to encourage creativity, innovation and promote cross-disciplinary initiatives in education and research. The art program entails site-specific works of art created by visionary artists, who conceptually draw inspiration from science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Data artist, Laurie Frick, speaks about the data being collected about us and how it might be returned in meaningful ways.

Laurie Frick draws from neuroscience to construct intricately hand-built works and installations to investigate the nature of pattern and the mind. In her highly personal art, she uses her background in engineering and high-technology to explore self-tracking and human patterns. Her work is stunning to see...as it allows us to see something stunning.
